That’s what Asus did with the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. No fancy RGB keyboard and no LED stripes on the body. You might as well call it a MacBook with an RTX 4070.
Somehow, it didn’t bother me how Asus downgraded from this laptop’s previous model which contained an RTX 4090 to this version which has an RTX 4070. That’s because it does not make a lot of difference to general users. But does this laptop perform as well as it looks? We’ll find it out in today’s review blog.

Not to mention the expert’s views about how the performance was compromised to keep the laptop thin and lightweight.
But let’s just look at the bright side for a while. You get a laptop that can handle most of your games very well and is extremely portable. It only weighs one and a half kg and has a MacBook-like design.
The lid of this laptop has a black slash on it (and it’s not RGB, sorry.) Although it can be customized to some extent the only color you’re going to get is white. I know many of you are not a big fan of the traditional Asus logo on the back, but it made me a little sad seeing it shrink down to the corner of the lid.
The keyboard and touchpad are also professional-looking. The keyboard is single-zone RGB. The touchpad is very roomy, however. I prefer using a mouse with my laptop, but with its big touchpad, I really didn’t feel the need for it.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU.
Zephyrus runs RTX 4070 along with the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS. The relationship between these components matters when it comes to testing the gaming.
So, let’s just keep the specification aside for a while and talk about gaming in a way that a general gamer understands. That is discussing the Frames Per Second (FPS).

The general specifications of Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 are more than enough for running productivity tasks. That’s precisely what I observed during the testing.

- Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 gained a single-core score of 1,890 on the GeekBench 5.5. The multi-core score it gained was around 11,754.
- I tried copying a large amount of data on this laptop. It copied over 25GB of data at 1,334 MBps.
- Zephyrus G14 was able to transcode a 4K video to 1080p in under 5 minutes.
These tests speak for the high productivity performance of this laptop. So, yes; you can use it both for gaming and professional uses.
The Display of Asus ROG Zephyrus G14:
Now, let’s review the display of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. It comes with a 14-inch screen. It has a resolution of 2880 X 1800. The screen is OLED and runs at 120Hz.
I watched several movies and YouTube videos on this laptop and the multimedia I got was exceptional. That’s the reason why I tested the display more and received some interesting results about the display of this laptop.

- It also covers over 80% of the more challenging DCI-P3 gamut.
- The brightness of this laptop’s display can go up to 392 nits.
Audio Details of Asus ROG Zephyrus G14:
Although the size of this laptop is very thin, the speaker and audio quality have impressed me. Listening to music without earphones is not something I enjoyed on this laptop. Although the overall quality was good, the bass was a little weaker than I expected.
Keeping the volume at 100 can distort the audio. But that happens with most of the devices so it didn’t really bother me.
