5 Easy Ways to Simplify Your Life at Home
The simple life, it’s a fashion that has really caught on in the last year or so, with more and more families looking for ways to reconnect after a terrible few year.
What Is A Simple Life?
A simple life means different things to different people. For some people, it means working less and having more family time; for others, it could mean having lots of technology around that makes life easier, and for others, it could be a complete rejection of modern-day life and a “back to basics” feel.
Whichever end of the spectrum you are on, there are some simple things that you can do to make your life easier, and as a result, simpler.

Here are some ideas we came up with after reading an article on a lifestyle website:
1. Keep Everyone Connectable
Make sure all of your family members have their own mobile phones.
This way, you can always reach out to them if you need something done or just want to check in with them. You can use apps like WhatsApp to cheaply and easily send messages and keep everyone in touch and connectable.
2. Communicate With Each Other
Make sure everyone in the family knows their responsibilities with regards to food, laundry, cleaning, etc. and make sure everyone communicates about what is happening in their day (work/school), so you all know what is happening.
This way, you don’t end up with extra food or clutter lying around if someone forgets to tick off the shopping list!
One way to communicate properly is to have a family meeting once a week. Invest in a set of giant bean bags, sit down in your sitting room, and communicate thoroughly with all of your family.
3. Maintain A Clean House
Make sure you have a cleaning schedule worked out in advance and that everyone knows what their part is so that the house remains clean and tidy all the time.
Chores can be separated out into different times of the day (e.g., breakfast, mid-morning, lunchtime, evening, etc.) so that no one has a lot to do all at the same time.
Children can do chores according to their ages; however, some younger children may prefer to do chores together. One simple way to make sure everyone is part of the cleaning process is to have a box where all the cleaning supplies are, and then everyone can put something in.
4. Plan Your Meals Ahead Of Time
Make sure that you have a set meal plan for any particular week so that you know exactly what you are going to be eating each day.
This way, you can plan ahead so that you are never running out of things to cook. If someone wants to make something different, they can then ask you first, and if you have enough ingredients left, they can make it. If not, then they know what they need to go shopping for!

5. Shop Around For Foods In Bulk
Plan a day just before your weekly shop where everyone goes out together to buy all the things that are needed for the week (even if it’s just a small amount).
Then all of the items go straight into large containers in the fridge or cupboards until needed.
