This is exactly what Formlabs has done with its new Form 3 3D printer. You can get a much larger print area than with Form 2, yet the real change with Form 3 is its engine of redesigned optics.

Our tests showed that it prints just as fast as its predecessor, with the quality remaining in the end product. It also surpasses its predecessor by offering you a larger print area to work on, as well as a new flexible print head that can handle more materials.
